Forest Creek Gold Mine, Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park. Barry Gamble

The following compilation of resources and useful links has been developed to help local community, industry, education and government learn about and support the Goldfields World Heritage Bid and the region’s diverse heritage, including its outstanding universal value and the local communities that sustain them.

As the process to list the Central Victorian Goldfields on the World Heritage List has been evolving for some thirty years, some of the resources in this collection are now dated and some priorities may have changed. For example, as World Heritage requirements have changed, the focus of the bid too has evolved – from listing the entire region, to listing one site, to listing a small series of sites that better tell the full story of the global gold rushes.
